Terms & Conditions [LAST REVISION 4/16/2012]
About us: We are a place for employers to find you for their projects that involve plus size women. Our service is 100% free to you; we take no commission on any jobs or offers you receive. Our members are seen by thousands each month. We are not an employer.
It is priority is to remain a top quality website for our members and
our site visitors, while promoting you and other members, helping you
to get discovered!
To qualify for our site:
- No third party applications, meaning you and only you can apply for an account. If you have someone who manages you, you can have them handle your profile with us after we get permission from you first.
- You must be at least 18 years of age at the time of applying.
- You must be at least a size 12 in women’s clothes (This is USA size, if are not in the United States, please click here to look at the international conversion chart. Set the USA value to 12, and if the size it populates in your country meets or exceeds a size 12, you qualify.)
- You must speak English. Our site is only English, and all emails that go out to members are only in English.
- We accept members from anywhere across the globe as long as they meet the above requirements.
What you need in order to apply:
- You must submit a minimum of 6 photos and a maximum of 21. They must meet the following requirements:
- Must be at least two different outfits and cannot all be the same pose (example, not all can be just head shots. There must be at least one full body or semi full body photo included).
- No cell phone pictures, web cam pictures, or any out of focus or low quality photos. We make the ultimate decision about the approval of the photos on our site. If we feel it looks too much like a cell phone photo, even though it’s not, we reserve the right to refuse it.
- No nudity or mature content. Bathing suits & bikinis are okay. (If you are looking for a service to promote your adult career, click here for a great site!)
- No collage photos.
- Photos may have a watermark from a website or photographer, but no other watermarks or text.
- Photos must be at least 400 pixels in height and width (if you are unsure of how to view the size, you will be shown on the application screen)
- Photos must be of you and only you. The only exception to this rule is if it is a runway show or other type of background, you must be the main focus of the photo. You must be clearly visible.
- You must own the rights or have permission to use your photos on our website. (example, photographer rights) WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR PHOTOS YOU SEND US THAT YOU DO NOT OWN.
- They do not need to be professional photos as long as they are in decent quality.
- The application must be complete in all the required fields.
- You need to be able to update your profile with us at least once every
six months. We will send you a reminder email with a 14 day time
period for you to send in your updated photo.
Other important information about our site:
Each profile has the same layout and color scheme, you cannot modify your own profile. All updates, whether it’s new photos or updating your information, are sent to our email address and we update your profile. This is to ensure we stay a quality site.
Once approved, any emails you send to us need to include your model name/user name in order to process your request faster. Updates can take up to 14 days, but are usually quicker. This depends on how many requests we have.
It is your responsibility to keep your information up to date, including your email address, Facebook profile, or any other contact information. If we try to contact you at any of your given contact info and it's no longer valid, YOU WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED. Our site is to help you find jobs, if people cannot contact you, it's pointless to be on our site.
Once a year you will be required to refill out the application to ensure your profile is current. We will send you a reminder email when it is due.As a member, PlusSizeProfile.com reserves the right to use your photos for promotional banners, ads, and other promotions. If you do not want your photo(s) used in such material, do not apply. Your photos that are turned into ads remain our property.
ALL MEMBER RELATED REQUESTS MUST BE SENT TO OUR EMAIL admin@plussizeprofile.com.
One photo of our choice will be added to our "Members" facebook profile. You can find the links in our contact section. Your photo may be tagged to your profile. This lets other users go directly to your profile. You will also be listed in our member directory on our websites. This is to your advantage. We're here to promote you.
Other Perks of being a member: Periodically we hold competitions with our members and they receive a variety of prizes, as well as an opportunity to be in merchandise where you earn portions of the sales. When we are selling merchandise, you will receive an email.
After your profile is approved and up, you will receive a welcome letter with all the information you need to get started, as well as our F.A.Q.’s & tips.
Contests : We decide when to start and end a contest. We will not end a contest if the race is very close, only if there is a significant distance to determine a winner. Contest rules and prizes are subject to change before/during the contest. All members are notified via email of any change in rules/prizes.PSProfile Magazine: The magazine is no longer in circulation as of April 2012.
Emails to members: PlusSizeProfile.com sends emails to members periodically that include newsletters, announcements, acknowledgements and other things that have to do with our site.
Account Termination: Your account can be terminated at any time if you break any of our terms and conditions, or for any other reason that we decide. You will be notified of account termination via email.
Voluntary Account Termination: You can terminate your account at any time by sending an email to admin@plussizeprofile.com. We take your profile down within 24hrs-7days. You do not have to provide a reason for taking your profile down, but we do like for you to provide feedback if possible.
If at any time your profile is terminated for any reason, you can reapply at any time as long as you meet the requirements.
We reserve the right to refuse any application we choose to. If you are reapplying after you have been terminated (voluntary or involuntary) we will determine if we want you back on our site. Most applicants who reapply are approved, but there are some circumstances where we will not allow you to be on our site again. This is including (but not limited to) lying on an application about your size, age, etc., and slander. We do not tolerate members (or ex-members) who "trash talk" our site. We take pride in it and our members do too, therefore its common sense that you would not gain inside access to it. Each applicant is on a case by case decision, this is solely an example.
Privacy: We do not share your email address we have listed as your main contact info with anyone. The only exception is some member notices may be sent to more than one person and your email may be displayed to another member, but no one else outside of the site. The info you list on your profile is visible by anyone since it is an open domain for anyone to view.
By appearing on our site, you understand that your information is public (in section 2 of the application). We try our best to protect our members and let them know of potentially "fake" people/employers/scammers, but it is ultimately up to YOU to decide any jobs, emails, or other contacts from people. We are not responsible for loss you incur, whether it's monetary, emotional distress, or any other negative thing that could happen as a result of being in the public eye. We do not accept any form of monies from potential employers or others who try to contact you. We take pride in our members, and we try to protect them as best as we can, but it is ultimately you who is responsible for protecting yourself. ALWAYS check out a company/individual before doing any kind of work for them!
